
Bread and Butter Bakery has been Chattanooga’s artisan bakery since 2016, specializing in long-fermented sourdough breads and hand-laminated viennoiserie. We are dedicated to craftsmanship, local sourcing, and building community through our work.
We’re hiring a Head Baker to lead both our bread and pastry teams. This hands-on role centers on naturally leavened breads baked in our deck ovens, while also guiding production of croissants, cookies, pies, quiche, and seasonal pastries. We welcome candidates with either strong bread experience and interest in pastry, or a strong pastry background with eagerness to grow in sourdough.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily bread and pastry production.
- Manage schedules, consistency, and quality standards.
- Train and support team members across departments.
- Collaborate on seasonal product development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years professional baking experience in bread or pastry (both a plus).
- Leadership ability and collaborative mindset.
- Reliability for early mornings and attention to detail.
