    Madison Sourdough is a James Beard nominated bakery and cafe in Madison, WI, seeking to hire a Bread Production Manager. This is a dynamic position within a well established bakery with retail and wholesale operations.

    The Bread Production Manager is responsible for all activities that occur in the bread department. They are committed to the values of the company by creating a team oriented, positive work environment in order to produce high quality products day after day. They also will keep calm under pressure, be solution oriented, and able to successfully motivate others.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Leadership
      • Keep open lines of communication with the Director and other Department Managers.
      • Maintains professionalism while supporting the bread department leads and bread bakers.
      • Participate in monthly manager department meetings.
    • Quality
      • Ensures the company standard of product is met in order to maintain customer satisfaction.
    • People
      • Training and Coaching
        • Work with the team to help them become well rounded bakers in all stations. Provide feedback and redirection to keep the team on track for continuous growth.
        • Completes or assigns training for new hires and cross training for bakers as they progress from station to station. Focus on motivation and feedback.
      • Work to maintain a consistent daily workflow.
      • Conduct performance reviews as scheduled.
    • Hiring
      • Consult with the Director on hiring needs.
      • Conducts hands-on interviews in order to make informed hiring decisions.
      • Extend offers of employment.
    • Scheduling
      • Writes and executes schedule for the bread department. Adjust shifts as production changes to ensure proper staffing is scheduled.
      • Cover for shifts in the event of an emergency or call out. Reprioritize daily responsibilities in order to ensure production is on schedule.
    • Ordering ingredients.

     

    Experience:

    • 2 years baking experience
    • 2 years management experience

     

    Compensation:

    • Salary -67-72K/year -Benefits
