This unique setting allows us to share the artistry of sourdough baking with a diverse and global audience, creating an enriching experience for both our team and our customers.

    Position Overview:

    As a Production Baker at Alaskan Sourdough Bakery, you will play a key role in producing high-quality, traditional sourdough bread, maintaining the distinct flavor, texture, and heritage that our customers have come to love. This is a night shift role, providing you with a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of fresh, wholesome sourdough bread that our community cherishes.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Sourdough Bread Production: Produce a variety of sourdough bread products from start to finish, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
    • Recipe Adherence: Strictly follow established sourdough recipes and guidelines to maintain the authenticity and excellence of our products.
    • Dough Preparation: Prepare and handle sourdough starter, mix, shape, and proof dough with precision and expertise.
    • Baking and Oven Management: Operate and monitor bakery equipment, including ovens, to ensure bread is baked to perfection.
    • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control checks, monitor product freshness, and troubleshoot any production issues.
    • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace, complying with health and safety standards.
    • Ingredient Management: Assist in inventory management, ensuring sufficient ingredients are on hand for production.
    • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members, including supervisors, to meet production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.

     

    Requirements:

    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a baker with a specialization in sourdough bread production.
    • Passion: A genuine passion for creating exceptional sourdough bread and an understanding of the unique sourdough fermentation process.
    • Night Shift Availability: Willing and able to work night shifts to ensure the freshness of our morning products.
    • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining product consistency.
    • Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting and carrying heavy bags of flour and performing other physically demanding tasks.
    • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude.
