  • Maria Brennan of Victorian Bakery in Kalamazoo, MI, was one of the organizers of the first annual Kalamazoo Bread Festival in October. Zingerman's Bakehouse in Ann Arbor, MI, donated gift baskets for the event. Read about it here.
  • Beyond Bread in Tucson, AZ, was awarded second place in the sandwich competition in the first-ever World Food Champion- ships in Las Vegas on November 1-4, 2012. Their winning entry was the Everything Reuben. 
  • Guild members were among the presenters at the Kneading Conference West in Washington on September 13-15, 2012:  Andrew Ross of Oregon State University in Salem, OR; Julie Richardson of Baker & Spice in Portland, OR;  Laura Ohm and Piper Davis of Grand Central Baking Company in Portland, OR; Lee Glass of Mercer Island, WA;  Martin Philip of King Arthur Flour in Norwich, VT;  Michael Eggebrecht of Stevenson, WA; and Scott Mangold of Breadfarm in Bow, WA.
